There are moments in a team’s story worth stopping to celebrate, and this is one of them. We are thrilled to announce that Hyunmin has earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant, and we could not be more proud.
Passing the CPA exam is no small feat. It is one of the most challenging professional certifications in the country, requiring hundreds of hours of dedicated study, a deep command of accounting principles and tax law, and the kind of persistence that does not quit when things get hard. Hyunmin did exactly that, and the entire HBL team is celebrating right along with them.
What It Takes to Become a CPA
The path to CPA licensure is rigorous by design. Candidates must meet strict educational requirements, pass all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, satisfy experience requirements under a licensed CPA, and fulfill ongoing continuing education obligations to maintain their license.
The exam itself covers four core disciplines: Auditing and Attestation, Business Environment and Concepts, Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Regulation. Each section demands a thorough understanding of both theory and real-world application. Nationally, pass rates for individual exam sections typically hover in the 40 to 50 percent range, which speaks to just how high the bar is set.
For those who pursue it, the CPA designation represents more than a credential. It signals a commitment to the profession, a standard of ethics and excellence, and a readiness to serve clients at the highest level.
What This Means for Our Clients
At HBL, we believe that investing in our team is investing in our clients. When our people grow professionally, that expertise flows directly into the work we do every day. Hyunmin’s CPA designation is a reflection of the depth of knowledge and dedication they bring to every client relationship.
Our clients come to us because they trust us to handle the financial decisions that matter most to them. Having a team of credentialed professionals means that trust is backed by real expertise, continual learning, and an unwavering commitment to getting it right.
Congratulations, Hyunmin
